CEE Plug Materials and Specifications Explained

On dé products supplied with a CEE input plug, the CEE plug connects the charger to the mains power outlet. It is not the Type 2 connector that plugs into the vehicle. Confirmed materials and specifications include TPU in the incoming power cable, flame-retardant nylon in the CEE plug, an IP44 rating, and 10,000 insertion and removal cycles. The incoming cable specification varies by product configuration, so check the information for your exact product version.

Important: Do not identify or select a CEE connection from the plug colour alone. The outlet type, voltage, current and number of phases must match the specifications for your charger.

Which part is the CEE plug?

The CEE plug is located on the power-input side of the charger. It connects to a compatible mains outlet.

The connector at the other end of the charging cable connects to the vehicle. On the applicable European dé products, this is the Type 2 connector.

The 10,000-cycle figure describes the insertion and removal test for the plug. It is not a warranty period or a guaranteed number of charging sessions.

IP44 is the confirmed rating for the CEE plug. It should not be interpreted as meaning that the plug is completely waterproof or suitable for every environment. Follow the safety and operating instructions in the manual supplied with your charger.

Confirmed incoming cable specifications

Depending on the product configuration, dé uses one of the following confirmed incoming cable specifications:

• H07BZ5-F 5G2.5 mm² + 1 × 0.5 mm²
• H07BZ5-F 3G6 mm² + 1 × 0.5 mm²
• H07BZ5-F 5G6 mm² + 1 × 0.5 mm²

These specifications describe different cable configurations. They are not settings that can be changed on the charger, its screen or an app. Do not assume that every CEE-equipped product uses the same cable specification.

How to check the specification for your charger

1. Identify the power-input plug.

   Find the plug that connects the charger to the mains outlet. Do not confuse it with the Type 2 connector used at the vehicle.

2. Find your product version.

   Check the rated power and product version shown on the charger label or in your order information.

3. Open the matching user manual.

   Use the Portable AC Charger User Manuals – 3–22 kW Series page and select the manual for your charger power and language.

4. Compare the product information.

   Confirm that the plug type and incoming cable specification belong to your product version. If the information does not match, do not apply specifications from another model.

Safety points to check before connection

• Check the outlet type, voltage, current and number of phases against the information for your charger.
• Do not choose a plug or charger from the plug colour alone.
• Connect the charger only to a properly grounded outlet or power supply.
• Do not use the charger if the plug, incoming cable or charger is visibly damaged.
• Do not treat the IP44 rating as permission to use the plug under conditions not stated in the product manual.

If you cannot identify your CEE configuration

After checking the product label, order information and correct manual, you should be able to identify the plug and incoming cable specification for your charger.

If you still cannot confirm the configuration, contact dé support. Before contacting support, prepare:

• a clear photo of the product label;
• a clear photo of the CEE plug;
• a clear photo of any marking on the incoming cable;
• your order number, if available; and
• the country where the product was purchased.
