How to Set the Charging Current on the Charger Screen

On supported dé 11 kW chargers, select the charging current on the charger itself before connecting the Type 2 connector to the vehicle. The available settings and control design depend on the product version, so always follow the manual supplied with your charger.

This guide covers the following screen-equipped products:

• 11 kW Portable EV Charger with two buttons;
• 11 kW Mobile Wallbox with Socket and one multifunction button; and
• 11 kW Wallbox with Cable and one multifunction touch control.

The Dual Wallbox and 20/30/40 kW DC Wallbox use separate configuration interfaces and are not covered by these instructions.

Before you begin

• Check the product name, model and rated power on the product label.
• Make sure the charger is powered and in standby.
• Set the current before connecting the Type 2 connector to the vehicle.
• Do not assume that every available charger setting is suitable for your socket, circuit or electrical installation.
• If you do not know which current your electrical installation can support, ask a qualified electrician before changing the setting.

Important: On the products covered below, the current setting cannot be changed after the Type 2 connector has been plugged into the vehicle.

11 kW Portable EV Charger with two buttons

Use these instructions if your charger has an inline control box with a current button and a clock button below the screen.

11 kW Mobile Wallbox with Socket

Use these instructions if your charger has a Type 2 socket, one multifunction button and an RFID sensing area. A separate Type 2 charging cable is required.

11 kW Wallbox with Cable

Use these instructions if your fixed Wallbox has an attached Type 2 cable, one multifunction touch-control area and an RFID sensing area.

Why can’t I change the current?

• The vehicle is already connected: Disconnect the Type 2 connector, return the charger to standby and set the current before reconnecting.
• Charging has already started: The current setting is locked while the charger is connected to the vehicle.
• The charger is not in standby: Wait until the charger returns to standby before using the current control.
• The wrong control action was used: On a single-control Wallbox, a double press enters Wi-Fi configuration instead of changing the current.
• Your screen or controls do not match: Stop and check the model and product version on the label. Your charger may use different instructions.
• The product uses another configuration interface: Dual Wallbox and DC Wallbox current or power limits are managed through their own configuration interfaces.

Dual Wallbox and DC Wallbox

The steps above do not apply to the Dual Wallbox or the 20/30/40 kW DC Wallbox.

• The Dual Wallbox uses a separate configuration interface for its maximum-current and power-distribution settings.
• The DC Wallbox uses a password-protected touchscreen settings interface for its output power limit and other system parameters.

These settings may affect both the electrical installation and charger configuration. Use the manual for the exact product and have installer-level settings checked by qualified personnel.
