Choose a fixed home charger by checking your vehicle’s AC charging capacity, the available home power supply, the required power input and the number of charging points. You must also choose between an attached Type 2 cable and a Type 2 socket.
Collect the information you need
Before comparing Wallboxes, confirm:
- Your vehicle’s maximum AC charging power
- Whether the vehicle supports single-phase or three-phase AC charging
- Whether the vehicle has a Type 2 AC charging inlet
- The voltage, phase configuration and available current at home
- Whether the charger will use a direct inlet cable or an existing CEE socket
- Whether one or two vehicles need a charging point
- The distance from the planned Wallbox position to the vehicle’s charging inlet
Use the vehicle manual or the vehicle manufacturer’s official specifications for the vehicle information. Do not use the vehicle’s DC fast-charging power when choosing an AC Wallbox.
Important: The Wallbox power, power input and phase configuration must all match the planned installation. Do not choose from the kW figure alone.
Choose the required charging power

The product family is commonly described as 7 kW, but the current Wallbox manuals list a maximum power of 7.4 kW for that version.
Compare these specifications with the vehicle’s maximum AC charging power and the available home power supply. The listed Wallbox power is not a guaranteed charging power or charging time for every vehicle.
Choose the correct Wallbox format
The current manuals cover several fixed Wallbox formats. Their power input and vehicle connection are not the same.

Check the product name, order details and manual before buying. Do not assume that two Wallboxes with the same power use the same power input.
Choose an attached Type 2 cable
Choose an attached-cable version if you want the vehicle cable to remain connected to the Wallbox. The current 7.4, 11 and 22 kW attached-cable manuals use a direct inlet cable for the power connection.
Choose a Type 2 socket
Choose a socket version if you want to use a separate Type 2 charging cable. The Type 2 cable is not included with the socket versions covered by the current manuals.
The socket Wallboxes include CEE-input versions. The current manuals also cover a 22 kW socket version with a direct inlet cable. Confirm which version is shown in your order.
Choose one or two charging points
A single-output Wallbox is intended for one vehicle connection at a time. If two parking positions need separate charging connections, compare the Dual Wallbox versions.

The Dual Wallbox manual lists different two-output power configurations. Use the power specified for each output when comparing it with the vehicle connected to that side. Do not treat the combined product name as the power supplied to one vehicle.
Check the parking position and cable reach
- Mark the planned Wallbox position.
- Park the vehicle in its normal direction.
- Locate the vehicle’s Type 2 charging inlet.
- Measure the usable cable route between the Wallbox and the vehicle.
- Repeat the check for both parking positions if you are considering a Dual Wallbox.
For a socket Wallbox, include the length of the separate Type 2 cable in this check.
Check the charging method
The current fixed Wallbox manuals describe Plug-and-Play, RFID and app-based charging. Check the manual for the exact product version before choosing a charging method.

Complete the final check
Before selecting a fixed Wallbox, confirm that:
- The vehicle has a Type 2 AC charging inlet.
- The vehicle’s maximum AC power and phase support are known.
- The home power supply has been confirmed.
- The selected Wallbox power matches the planned supply.
- The required power input is a direct inlet cable or a CEE connector.
- You have selected an attached cable or a Type 2 socket.
- You need one or two charging points.
- The cable can reach each vehicle in its normal parking position.
Once you identify the exact version, review the 7/11/22 kW Wallbox user manual before installation.
