How to Choose the Right Charging Cable Length

Last updated Aug 24, 2026

Choose a charging cable that reaches from the power connection or Wallbox to the vehicle’s charging port along the route the cable will actually follow. Check the parking direction and charging-port position before selecting a length. Do not measure only the straight-line distance.

Measure the required cable route

  1. Mark the power connection or Wallbox position.
  2. Park the vehicle as you normally would.
  3. Locate the vehicle’s charging port.
  4. Measure the actual route.
  5. Compare the measurement with the available options.
