Choose the 22 kW Wallbox only when your vehicle can accept more than 11 kW of AC charging power and the installation can supply 400 V, 32 A three-phase power. Otherwise, the 11 kW Wallbox may provide the same practical charging speed for your vehicle.
The number on the Wallbox is its maximum output. It does not mean that every vehicle will charge at that power.
Compare the two Wallbox versions
| Wallbox | Maximum output | Power supply | Current settings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11 kW Wallbox with Cable | 11 kW | 400 V, 16 A, three-phase | 6, 8, 10, 13 or 16 A |
| 22 kW Wallbox with Cable | 22 kW | 400 V, 32 A, three-phase | 6, 10, 13, 16, 20, 24 or 32 A |
Both versions have a Type 2 charging cable. See the 7/11/22 kW Wallbox user manuals for the complete specifications and operating instructions.
Check your vehicle’s maximum AC charging power
Look for the maximum AC charging power in the vehicle manual or the vehicle manufacturer’s technical specifications. Do not use the DC fast-charging figure for this comparison.
- If the vehicle accepts a maximum of 11 kW AC, choosing a 22 kW Wallbox will not increase the vehicle’s maximum AC charging power.
- If the vehicle accepts 22 kW AC, the 22 kW Wallbox can provide a higher maximum output than the 11 kW version when the required electrical supply is available.
- If the vehicle specification shows a different AC limit, use that figure when comparing the two Wallboxes.
Check the available electrical supply
The 11 kW Wallbox is rated for 400 V, 16 A three-phase power. The 22 kW Wallbox requires 400 V, 32 A three-phase power to reach its stated maximum output.
Confirm the available voltage, number of phases and current capacity before choosing a Wallbox. Do not open the Wallbox or modify its internal wiring. The manuals state that there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Make the choice
| Your situation | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your vehicle accepts no more than 11 kW AC | A 22 kW Wallbox will not raise the vehicle’s AC charging limit. |
| Your vehicle accepts 22 kW AC and 400 V, 32 A three-phase power is available | The 22 kW Wallbox can provide the higher maximum output. |
| You cannot confirm the vehicle or electrical-supply limit | Check the vehicle specifications and confirm the installation supply before ordering. |
Important: A 22 kW rating does not guarantee that every charging session will be twice as fast as an 11 kW session. The available charging power depends on the vehicle’s AC charging limit and the electrical supply available to the Wallbox.
After installation, select only a current setting that is suitable for the available supply. See how to set the charging current on the charger screen for the operating steps.
