Charging Connector Design Overview

Last updated Oct 12, 2026

This overview identifies the visible parts of the charging connectors covered by the supplied production document for dé 3, 7, 11 and 22 kW chargers. Their exact product mapping is not covered here, so check the manual supplied with your charger before identifying your version.

Which connectors does this overview cover?

The production document covers charging connector assemblies for 3, 7, 11 and 22 kW products. It shows more than one connector-head configuration and housing size.

This article explains the parts visible from the outside. It does not describe vehicle compatibility, internal materials or the charging procedure.

Parts visible from the outside

Part Where to find it
Connector face The front of the connector, where the contact openings are located.
Connector housing The main outer body surrounding the connector assembly. The production document records a matt grey housing.
Grip area The section of the housing used to hold the connector.
Dust cap The attached cover for the connector face when the connector is not in use.
Charging cable The cable entering the rear of the connector housing.
Cable-entry section The moulded section where the cable meets the connector housing. The production document identifies this as the SR-formed section.
Product markings The printed or laser-marked information on the outside of the housing.
Visible face and housing of a dé charging connector
The connector face is at the front, while the housing forms the main external body.

How the cable enters the connector

Inside the housing, the wires are arranged in a holder and secured with upper and lower fixing components. The cable-entry section is then formed by moulding before the connector is assembled.

This overview only identifies the completed external section. It does not provide instructions for opening or disassembling the connector.
