Plug in your vehicle, open the App, and swipe to start charging.
App mode lets you start and stop charging from your phone. As long as the Wallbox is powered on, connected to Wi-Fi, and plugged into the vehicle, you can control charging whether you are at home or away.
Before You Start
Make sure that:
- The Wallbox has been added to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life App.
- The Wallbox is powered on and connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Your phone has an internet connection.
- The Type 2 charging connector is plugged into the vehicle.
Not connected yet? Read [How to Connect Your Wallbox to Wi-Fi and Add It to the App].
Step 1: Connect Your Vehicle
Insert the Type 2 charging connector fully into the vehicle’s charging port.
Once connected, the App will show that the vehicle is connected and waiting to charge.
Connect the vehicle first, then start charging in the App.
Step 2: Open the Charger in the App
Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life App.
On the home screen, select the connected dé EV Charger.
Check that:
- The charger is online.
- The vehicle is connected.
- No error message is displayed.
Step 3: Select the Charging Current
Use the current slider to select a value between 6 A and 16 A.
The current can be adjusted in 1 A steps. You can also change it while the vehicle is charging, and the new setting will sync with the Wallbox.
6–16 A, adjustable in 1 A steps
Not sure which setting to use? Follow the current limit recommended for your electrical installation.
For more details, read [How to Adjust the Charging Current in the App].
Step 4: Swipe to Start Charging
Swipe the Start Charging control in the App.
After charging starts:
- The App shows that charging is in progress.
- The Wallbox LED turns green.
- The charging power begins to increase.
- Real-time charging data appears in the App.
It may take a few seconds for the vehicle and Wallbox to complete communication.
Green light on = Charging in progress
Pause Charging from Your Phone
To pause charging, use the charging control in the App again.
The charging power will return to 0, but the Wallbox will remain powered on and the vehicle will remain connected. You can restart charging later through the App.
Pausing charging is not the same as disconnecting the Wallbox from its power supply.
Important Notes
The Wallbox must be online
Remote control only works while the Wallbox is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. Your phone must also have an internet connection.
The vehicle must already be connected
The App can start and pause charging remotely, but the Type 2 connector must already be plugged into the vehicle.
Current adjustment is manual
You can manually adjust the current from 6 A to 16 A in 1 A steps. The Wallbox does not automatically monitor other household appliances or automatically reduce the charging current.
A gradual increase in power is normal
Charging power may take a short time to reach the selected level. This is normal when the App shows charging in progress, the LED is green, and no error message is displayed.
