dé AC chargers use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for Wi-Fi connection. During setup, your phone must also be connected to a secure 2.4 GHz network. A 5 GHz network cannot be used for this connection.
Why is 2.4 GHz required?
EV chargers are often installed in a garage, basement or outdoor parking area. The router is usually inside the home, with walls, a metal garage door or a vehicle between the router and charger.

In these conditions, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is better suited to passing through walls and maintaining a connection over a longer distance. The charger also sends and receives only small amounts of data, such as charging power, charged energy, error codes and start or stop instructions. It does not require the higher data rate provided by 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Which network should you select?
- Connect your phone to a secure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network before starting setup.
- Do not select a network identified as 5 GHz or 5G for the charger connection.
- If your router shows separate network names, select the one identified as 2.4 GHz or 2.4G.
Note: A Wi-Fi network name does not always show its frequency. If you are unsure whether a network is 2.4 GHz, check the router instructions or contact the router supplier.
